I like the way you talk about everything we make having impact/value, as it becomes a stepping stone that moves us onward.

Thank you Anne for reading and commenting. I do truly believe that nothing is without some ultimate purpose. Even the smallest of reverberations is felt somehow!

Oh my word, unfortunately, I relate to this: "Instead, I got sucked in by YouTube again. “This nightly ritual of late must change,” I say to myself. I am well aware of what I’m doing as I’m doing it. I dismiss it as burning off stress, knowing it’s a phase and will pass."

This reminds me of The treachery of images by Magritte where he questioned the veracity of art. Interesting points, Juliette! Hope you managed to get some shots of the night sky.

Even if noone sees our art, we still have the joy of doing it and being present with it. That’s what matters. There are many ways to connection and unity, not just by being seen. Enjoyed the article just before going to sleep🥂

That is 100% true, Davor and thank you for commenting. There are in fact ways to connect without the lust for being seen.

Indeed, no two of us every see a scene, a view, a photograph, the same way. We look through our own mind's filters. As artists we create first and foremost for ourselves. Others get different messages, different stories from our work. I do yearn to hear their thoughts. After all, images communicate. As I was admiring your photos, I was asking myself how I would have manipulated them in postprocessing if they were my photos - and they would look very different. To myself and others. You have given us a thought-provoking essay. It made a sound.

I’m so glad you heard the sound, Ludwig!! Thank you for your thoughtful comments. The yearning for others’ thoughts is most definitely relevant, important and the subject of a future post. :)

I think 99% of my photos never see the „daylight“ or are meant to be shared with anyone else and yet all of these photos have a purpose for me.

Great read! Thank you.

Oh, and I love the last photos. It has a wonderful energy to it!

I love hearing that, Susanne. It shows where you are as an artist. It took me so many years to get to the place of just pure enjoyment without the need to "do" anything with what I would create. Thank you for the comments and I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the last ones!
