He was a great photographer. I had the opportunity to see him give a lecture on his work presented by the Detroit Institute of Art.

Great post Juliette. His work is so humanely touching. Truly inspiring!

I'm convinced Parks is the only photographer who has made a pretty decent film. Most who have tried haven't made a film as good as their still documentary work.

I’m really glad I could introduce you to him, Susanne. I totally agree that he was so important to history. However, he is so underrated in the photography history books. I felt he deserved a little attention on the anniversary of his passing this week.
